FootyTwits is a Twitter application for football fans that allows users to receive live scores, see fixture and squad information and follow realtime tweets related to their favourite teams. Users log in with their Twitter account, select a team they want to follow and immediately see realtime tweets about the selected team. Each team has a number of keywords associated with it that are dynamically updated according to current news. This concept goes beyond following traditional hashtags. It allows users "see" live matches through comments made on Twitter, even from users that don't use the match hashtag. Furthermore, it's a valuable source of information during transfer seasons, allowing users to find influential bloggers and journalists from other countries that are tweeting about their team and providing them with exclusive information.
