ImmuneSafe® is composed by mesenchymal cells isolated from the bone marrow of healthy donors and expanded using Cell2B's proprietary technology. These cells are able of modulating the immune and inflammatory responses in our bodies. There are no compatibility issues and no need for matching donor and recipient, making this a much more attractive business model that other cell therapies currently on the market. Cell2B's proprietary technology was licensed and developed at MIT during the founder's PhD work. An early clinical study of the technology showed that it was safe and, in three patients already suffering from Graft-versus-Host-Disease, resulted in either complete or partial response. We have Orphan Designation for ImmuneSafe for Graft-versus-Host-Disease. Immune and inflammatory disorders have no effective treatment available today, affecting affect more than 20 M people in the U.S. and Europe and leading to 3 M deaths/year.
